Party of the Season:  Joe and Ronnie Concepcion’s

Milestone Celebration

Icons to emulate, twin brothers Joe and Ronnie Concepcion’s milestone celebration was such a knockout, that the evening gown-clad guests had ran out of superlatives. Undoubtedly the party of the season, the prominent brothers recently celebrated their 80th birthday in grand style at the Makati Shangri-la hotel.  It was a veritable ‘who’s who’ from the business, government, society and diplomatic world. The perfectly poised and polished wives, Marivic and Menchu shared the limelight, and together with their children, outdid themselves with the masterful production and presentation of this surprise birthday party.

The power brothers have scored stellar victories in their careers, encompassing various industries of our economy. Industrialist Jose ‘Joecon’ Concepcion is the brains behind the success of RFM Corporation, one of the country’s leading food and beverage conglomerate.  Raul ‘Ronnie’ Concepcion, on the other hand, pioneered Concepcion Industries, Inc, makers of Carrier air-condition and Condura refrigerators.

The festivities kicked off with a lavish dinner and live music performances. Video and still photographs were shown, and the insight on the contrasting characters of the brothers were refreshing, humorous and entertaining. The family chose to immortalize the patriarchs with the release of their respective books that extol the values of faith, integrity, love of country and fellowmen. The books that were given as presents were: “Joecon’s Journey”, written by eldest son, Joey, and “In pursuit of excellence…The Legacy of Raul Concepcion”, written by Menchu. And for the grand finale, the gathering on stage of the celebrator’s children and grandchildren was a true moment of glory!
