The vitally energetic Travelife magazine, which comes up with inventive ideas each time, deserves kudos and acclaim for having presented \u201cJapan Night\u201d. For us, it was a \u2018must-attend\u2019 event.\u00a0 My husband Rupert and I share the same feeling of endearment towards Japan \u2013 a place of superlatives \u2013 with its food, the sights, culture and people; plus the constant development in the world of technology and style. Our fondness may be attributed too to the fact that we travel regularly to Tokyo to visit our daughter, Liezl who resides there with her husband Yuki and our two adorable grandchildren. <\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

The sublime travel powerhouse Christine Cunanan, publisher and editor-in-chief, came up with an impressive degustation menu, its ingredients specially flown in from Japan and prepared by leading Japanese chef, Chef Hiroyuki Fukata of Dusit Thani\u2019s Umu restaurant.\u00a0 There was a performance by young Japanese geishas, called maiko, who flew in from the Yamagata Prefecture in Northern Japan, sponsored by Japan Airlines.\u00a0 Pido Villanueva reconstructed the beautiful sakura environment, with a cherry blossom park, complete with weeping cherry trees, a pond and a Japanese bridge. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Presented in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan and Dusit Thani Manila, \u2018Travelife Japan Night\u2019 was a celebration of strength of the Japanese people, a year after the great earthquake, and to promote the country\u2019s beautiful sites, more particularly, the cherry blossoms which shall be in full bloom anytime now.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0(Do visit me in www.tinajacinto.com<\/a> and like me in Facebook \u2013 The Lady HB<\/em>)<\/strong><\/p>\n
