For the traditional cutting of\u00a0the Swiss cheese,\u00a0they were joined by\u00a0Samuel Po, Lt. Col.\u00a0Patrick Boratel,\u00a0Xin Tian,\u00a0and celebrity guest\u00a0Sarah\u00a0Lahbati.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">In his welcome speech,\u00a0GM Frank\u00a0Reichenbach\u00a0said:\u00a0\u201cI am a Swiss national,\u00a0(I was)\u00a0raised and grew up in Switzerland. It\u00a0is a country that is known for\u00a0its stunning mountains and majestic views. Through its towns lies\u00a0and\u00a0lives\u00a0the culture of Switzerland,\u00a0something that is simple, but rich. For us to celebrate this special day for Switzerland,\u00a0we are very happy to share the culture that I have always loved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Switzerland\u2019s\u00a0culture has influenced the world, one of which is folk arts;\u00a0and the\u00a0Swiss nationals keep\u00a0these\u00a0alive through poetry, visual arts,\u00a0and music.\u00a0The country is multicultural and,\u00a0with its cultural\u00a0diversity,\u00a0various\u00a0cultures,\u00a0and different dialects,\u00a0it is\u00a0much like the Philippines.\u00a0This noontime\u00a0feast was one of the\u00a0more\u00a0enjoyable ways\u00a0of\u00a0indulging one\u2019s self\u00a0in a foreign culture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">The\u00a0Swiss Army Band\u00a0performed center stage with its\u00a0opening number of both the Philippine and Swiss national anthems\u00a0and their\u00a0repertoire\u00a0ranged from\u00a0Swiss tunes to\u00a0classics\u00a0and Broadway.\u00a0The band consisted\u00a0of 14 talented musicians arranged by the Federal\u00a0Department of Foreign Affairs\u00a0and the chief\u00a0of the Armed Forces, Lt. General\u00a0Andre\u00a0Blattman\u00a0headed by Lt. Col\u00a0Patrick Robatel. It was their\u00a0third\u00a0leg of its Asian tour\u00a0having come\u00a0from Beijing, Seoul, and Singapore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Executed\u00a0by Marco Polo\u2019s chefs, the menu of Swiss specialties\u00a0included\u00a0beef carpaccio with beef tartar, quail egg,\u00a0mache\u00a0leaves, veal\u00a0zurichoise\u00a0with\u00a0roesti,\u00a0plum tart with vanilla schnapps,\u00a0and whipped cream. The festival lasted two weeks with\u00a0guest Swiss chef\u00a0Rolf Jaeggi\u00a0from\u00a0Marco Polo\u00a0Hong Kong,\u00a0who held\u00a0a cooking\u00a0class of Swiss favorites.
