Celebrating love is universal and a perfect wedding, whether grand or intimate can be beautifully orchestrated with service that caters to a couples\u2019 every whim.\u00a0 Now on its sixth year, \u201cMarry Me at Marriott\u201d is the much-awaited bridal event that has inspired and thrilled the imagination.\u00a0 Known for its weddings and exhibitions, the Marriott Grand Ballroom is a premier place for the latest trends and must-haves in weddings, and its General Manager Bruce Winton boasts of its being the prime mover in the wedding scene.\u00a0 It was a collaboration of wedding, fashion and media, making it one of the most successful bridal exhibits, with gold standard service, wedding options, perks and other extra special Marriott touches.<\/p>\n

Radiant in a red-feathered gown, Cluster Director for Marketing Communications Mitch Garcia with emcee Joey Mead opened the program with welcome speeches followed by exciting raffle prizes. Our table mate, the ever stylish Duday Tuason won the Best Dressed award of the evening.\u00a0 A four-course wine dinner by Executive chef Meik Brammer was served, with pairing wines from Emperador Distillers. During the cocktails the invitees were able to appreciate up close the variety of creative wedding cakes.<\/p>\n

Style event wizards GMT, an acronym for Gideon Hermosa, Michelle Ruiz and Teddy Manuel created a spectacular setting at the ballroom, making use of the huge open space by installing three gigantic birdcages made of crystals and which dramatically descended on cue from the ceiling and onto the runway during the bridal presentation. These provided an elegant backdrop to the fabulous gowns with yards and yards of enormous trains creating a vision of regal opulence. This state-of-the art technology is one which only the Grand Ballroom can provide; and coupled with its high steel platforms and ultra long catwalk, it was a grand setting.<\/p>\n

The bridal fashion presented a sophisticated new light with different silhouettes in luxurious fabrics. Mitch commented that the designers were carefully selected, as she said: \u201cWe aim to present something new and something fresh.\u201d\u00a0 Romanticist Rosenthal Tee\u2019s work was very feminine done with intricate designs.\u00a0 Her voluminous train showcased her works with beauty in an artisanal manner. A modernist approach characterized Mak Tumang\u2019s inventive creations, while Amir Sali, known as the Prince of Beads, displayed shimmering gowns in flawless execution and dreamy ways.<\/p>\n

Another highlight this year was the special participation of top bridal fair wedding suppliers who offered discounts and exclusive services for the evening; among them were:\u00a0 Jesi Mendez, Write Impressions, Twin Princess Gems, Manila.\u00a0 \u2018Marry me at Marriott\u2018s prizes included: an overnight stay in new Marriott properties:\u00a0\u00a0 Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo, Marriott Clark, and Sheraton Manila.<\/p>\n
