JUNJUN ABLAZA: MAXIMALIST ARTIST EXTRAORDINAIRE<\/strong><\/p>\n

JunJun Ablaza\u2019s grandiose world is a walk through fantasyland, with angels suspended above towering heights, flying horses amidst surreal backgrounds, giant teapots, circus clowns, fire eaters, and gods and goddesses. He turns fantasy into reality and reality into fantasy, and this doesn\u2019t even start to hint of JunJun\u2019s mesmerizing complexity, as he continuously unravels surprises up his sleeves. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Undoubtedly known for his avant garde costumes, impressive home interiors and innovative jewelry designs, the highly buzzed about artist went a notch higher, when he recently introduced his wearable art, in his first one-man exhibit, entitled \u201cWild Things\u201d. Held at the \u201c7th<\/sup> High\u201d, in Bonifacio Global City, JunJun\u2019s creations captivated the attendees, as they marveled at the 100 pieces of headdresses, capes, crowns, collars, robes and other inventive art to wear. <\/strong><\/p>\n

A maximalist, JunJun has run the gamut from lavish baroque inspirations, using explosion of colors, textures and shapes; to extravagant tribal pieces The talented son of distinguished couple, Consuls Louie and Mellie Ablaza, JunJun is the creative force behind his parent\u2019s fabulous events, notably the Ablaza Ball, the Consular Corps of the Phils, the San Beda Alumni Association and Friends of the CCP.
