Fun and Advocacy Philippine Tatler\u2019s 17th Anniversary Ball<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0Individuals whose influence has contributed to a better world deserve to be recognized. Once again, it was party time with the lead figures of Philippine Tatler<\/em>\u2014 managing director Irene Martel Francisco, editor-in-chief Anton San Diego<\/strong>, and Tatler Traveller <\/em>editor Mia Borromeo<\/strong>. They have found the balance between fun and advocacy creating an image for Tatler <\/em>that works best, as they continue to push it forward. World-class luxury dressing is de ri\u00adgueur <\/em>in every Tatler Ball and the glittering Philip\u00adpine Tatler 17th <\/sup>Anniver\u00adsary Ball, held recently at the Grand Ballroom of Shangri-la at the Fort, drew in the infectious en\u00adergy of fashionphiles in the spirit of inclusiveness. The 500 A-listers were there for an evening of merriment, fashion, en\u00adtertainment, as well as to see and be seen.<\/p>\n

In her welcome speech, Irene gained the nod of the well-heeled guests when she announced that Philippine Tatler <\/em>shall not go digital like most major magazines have. She thanked the advertisers, partners, readers, and friends for its success. Main partners were Santos Knight Frank and Mercedes Benz. There was a five-course continental din\u00adner with Filipino fusion by executive chef Joris Rychen<\/strong>. Carpineto wines from Bacchus and Nicholas Feuillatte champagne from AWC were paired with the dinner.<\/p>\n

Best moments were the auction for the MovEd Foundation, which provides early educa\u00adtion to underprivileged chil\u00addren three to five years old. By all accounts, the auction was a huge success, having reached their goal of P9 M, including the donations. Our table was active in the auc\u00adtion, starting with a painting by Ayka Go<\/strong>, a safari for two from A2A Safaris, a classic Jaeger-Le Coultre time\u00adpiece from Lucerne, Cathay Pacific business-class trip for two to Paris with a two-night stay at Chateau Bagnolet.<\/p>\n

A pop element in the show was the performance of American Idol <\/em>star Jessica Sanchez <\/strong>which got the party rolling. This year\u2019s awardees were: Couple of the Year, Donnie <\/strong>and Crickette Tantoco<\/strong>; Patroness of the Arts, Margie Moran-Flo\u00adriendo<\/strong>; Most Creative Force, Rajo Laurel<\/strong>; Most Stylish, Lucy Torres Gomez<\/strong>; the Diamond Award, Jew\u00adelmer\u2019s Manoling Cojuangco <\/strong>and Jacques Branellec<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
