Chateau Margaux Hosts Coronation Night Cocktails at Miss Universe China

“That’s not wine, that’s Chateau Margaux”, Yue Sai Kan told us with a smile at breakfast, when we said that we woke up late due to much wine. That was the morning after the coronation of the Miss Universe China.

International celebrity Yue Sai Kan welcomed the invitees from all over the world, and our group that flew to Beijing was composed of the stylish and spirited triumvirate Mayenne Carmona, Jojo Zabarte and Cecile Infantado, together with my husband Rupert and myself. A cosmetics magnate, Yue Sai has brought lifestyle and ‘red lipstick’ to millions of Chinese, and is considered ‘the most famous woman in China’, according to ‘People Magazine’, U.S.A. Donald Trump, owner of the Miss Universe Organization, had chosen this New York and Shanghai based resident to spearhead this glitterati event.

After the pageant, “An Evening With Chateau Margaux’ cocktail party was hosted by its President, Paul Pontallier. Every wine buff knows that Chateau Margaux is one of the most highly acclaimed estate wines in the world. We chatted with stunning beauty Petra Nemcova, international supermodel and philanthropist.
Founder and chair of the Happy Hearts Fund, Petra is a survivor of the 2004 tsunami in Thailand. With her at the cocktail party was British beau, actor Jamie Belman.

A trip to The Great Wall of China should be on everyone’s bucket list. Considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World, it spans more than 3,000 kilometers. At the Badaling entrance, we made an adrenaline-charged climb atop the great steps, braving the heat and the frenetic crowd in our exploration. It was absolutely worth it. Another amazing sight we visited was the Forbidden City, where we were in awe
at the more than a dozen resplendent temples! An epic Beijing adventure it was!
