Philippine Tatler, with the always composed, yet highly driven Managing Director, Irene Martel Francisco at its helm, continues to draw the crème de la crème of Philippine Society to the annual Tatler Ball. It is the most elegant and most anticipated charity event of the year. Black tie and evening gowns are de rigueur, champagne and wines are overflowing, and the dinner served for the 450 invited guests, makes for undeniable pleasure. Wines are carefully selected and the menu is meticulously overseen by Irene herself, Electrifying-ly attired Tessa Valdes had candidly quipped onstage: “This is the only ball where there are no tickets to buy.” Donations are accepted, and together with the evening’s auction, the event had raised 60 houses for its beneficiary, “Habitat for Humanity Foundation.”
Held last week at the Makati Shangri la, the Spanish wine-pairing dinner included Soufflé de Manchegowith Aged Iberico Ham and a succulent Lomo de Cordero. The overwhelming success of the Tatler Ball is unlike anything on the party circuit.
