Black Magnificence
“Filling our world with art merely awakens our senses; but creating art in our world is the ultimate euphoria”, words of artist-photographer Rupert Jacinto. An international award-winning portrait photographer who has been dubbed “Photographer to the Faaabulous” by the Washington Post for his portraits of the rich and famous, Rupert possesses a wonderful spirit with his incessant passion for art and design.
Jacinto’s latest exhibit “Black Magnificence“, held at Chef Jessie was a visually compelling art show which demonstrated his three-dimensional mixed media techniques. Experimenting with various forms, the artist loves to challenge himself, to achieve an entirely new imaginative creation. The overall composition of Black Magnificence was a visual palate of dramatic eye-catching balance and harmony, thus justifying his fame as an artist of the avant-garde. The use of his canvass as a surface for his mixed media works showcased his aesthetics and appreciation of beauty; and just as his portraits project the beauty of his subjects, his artworks convey the symmetry of grace and elegance. This time around, the elements of his visual world were drawn from shimmering gold leaf and silver leaf, reflecting the rays of the sun. Additional embellishments included crystals, beads, balls, which embodied his sense of color and imagination, making these a unique signature art piece, and thus making it a bold statement to decorate a home. Rupert outdid himself with his masterful presentation, to which Chef Jessie herself declared: “Never have we had such a beautiful display of artworks”.
The exhibit was attended by a glittering assemblage of guests from the art, business and society world. Headed by former Vice-President Jejomar Binay, the Guests of Honor included: Consul Betty Chua, Chef Jessie Sincioco, Lina Castillo of Liquid Gold, Mabel Abano, Mache Torres Ackerman, Arch.
