Lalique’s 130th Anniversary Launch of Hirondelles Collection
Producing something unique and yet something with soul is the challenge most conceptual artists face in this competitive age. French glass designer Rene Lalique founded Lalique in 1888 and continues to thrive as the ultimate symbol of French luxury. With an illustrious heritage spanning 130 years, from crystal perfume bottles, jewelry, art objects to an uber chic five-star hotel, and two-Michelin stars Villa Rene Lalique, Maison Lalique can bask in its glory built by its founder. This is a legacy heralded by the limited edition, 130th Anniversary Hirondelles Collection.
At the launch, we asked Daniel Ong, Regional Director for Southeast Asia and Oceania to describe in one word – what makes Lalique different from the rest, he said without hesitation: “Detail. It’s the detail”. Lalique, Sculptor of Light crystallizing nature makes a statement in any decorating essentials. Rene Lalique sought inspiration from nature – flora, fauna and the female form. As a tribute to its esteemed founder, Lalique reinterprets the figure of the swallow in satin-finished and re-polished crystal. The grace of the swallow symbolizes freedom and happiness.
Lalique enthusiasts and collectors viewed the stellar pieces: Hirondelles Vase in clear crystal and sapphire blue; Dish and Bowl in Clear Crystal and Grand Sculpture in clear crystal and sapphire blue; flared vase in clear crystal, gold stamped and sculpture – wall mounted in clear crystal and sapphire blue. Look for these at Rustan’s Makati, Shangri-la and Cebu.

Flashing on the panoramic screens was the iconic Montblanc logo, the ultimate seal of its distinctive and elegant style, quality and performance.
