MEN ACHIEVERS
Possessing values of integrity, work ethics, and not resting on ones laurels, yet mindful of his contribution to society gives a man the impetus for greatness. The Men Who Matter awards recognize these productive members of society. The MWM 2018 awardees have carved out a solid niche of highly respected position in their chosen fields. Now on its 14th year, the celebration was held at the New World Makati Hotel Grand Ballroom, graced by members of government, business, art, movie celebrities and diplomats. GM Farid Schoucair thanked People Asia editor-in-chief Joanne Rae Ramirez and her team for giving the recognition and honor they deserve.
Special guest of honor, Philippine Ambassador to U.S., Babe Romualdez, here on official visit from Washington D.C., extended his stay to acknowledge the 12 distinguished gentlemen. These were: US Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim who played an important role for the meeting of US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un; Bruce Winton, cluster manager of Marriott Philippines; Albert Arcilla, lawyer and driving force of Volvo Philippines and Chevrolet Philippines; Francis Kong, columnist, author, and motivational speaker; Dr. Gerardo Legaspi, Philippine General Hospital director and neurosurgeon; Kendrick Tan, Emperador Distillers Inc. executive director and research and development manager; Jojie Lloren, fashion designer; Ton Concepcion executive of Smeg and Condura; Grant Lim founder and CEO of Home Studio; Daniel de la Cruz, sculptor, Ryan Agoncillo veteran TV host and actor and Jericho Rosales, dramatic actor.
Other presenters: were Sara Soliven de Guzman; Lexus’ Raymond Rodriquez; Senator Sonny Angara and Tootsy Angara; DPWH secretary Mark Villar. Emcee of the night was Miss World Philippines 2017 Laura Lehmann who announced the winner of a selfie contest, Belo Medical Group’s Doris Jimenez. Rachel Verns rendered a few numbers.
